A heritage group from Horningtoft will showcase what village life was like nearly eighty years ago, in a new exhibition.

On 30 June and 1 July the Horningtoft Heritage Society are holding an event at the village church, centring around information they have gathered from the 1939 national register.

Pauline Chapman and Heather Gooch have been researching the buildings and the families that lived in the village 79 years ago.

Mrs Chapman, secretary & treasurer of Horningtoft Heritage Society said: 'We found some very interesting things. Two people on the register from 1939 are still living in the village, they were just one at the time, but have lived here their whole lives. Another person was living in a shepherd's hut and there is a property listed as the square house which does not exist any more. I hope people who come along, are able to help us to fill in some gaps too.'
