A trade fair in South Norfolk is strengthening its ties with the younger generation.

Hingham Antiques Fair has become sponsors of Morley Youth under 13s football team, and has continued to support young people in the antiques trade.

Teenagers Sam Sparrow of Great Ellingham and Charlie King of Attleborough attended the fair as part of the Antique Young Guns initiative, where they were mentored over the day last year aged 13.

They have now been back several times as paid porters, a role in which many dealers begin their careers.

Fair owner Phil Crosthwaite said: “Young guns at the fair was a fantastic success and something we will be doing in the future. Charlie and Sam are both learning how to manage relationships and interaction with the dealers and the public.

“It is important that young people come into the trade as the things we deal in are part of our history. “
