An image of a row of sanderlings with their heads tucked under their wings was one of the winners at a photography competition.

The projected digital images competition hosted by North Norfolk Photographic Society was judged by three members whose images were not in the competition.

The winner of the novice competition was Barrie Price with a picture of Cromer Pier in a storm. Second was Patterns of Light by Tony Shipp, a night-time view of a building with beams of light throwing patterns. Third was a photograph of pink feathers by Val Dawson.

Although a deserved first place in the advanced section went to Nick Akers with a landscape shot of Glen Shiel in the Scottish Highlands, four images tied for second place.

They were Bottoms Up by Hugh Barton, Fulmar checking out the girls from Lizzie Wallis, Sealions by Liz Akers and Sleepy Sanderlings by Paul Richards.
