Organisers of this year's Hethersett two-mile fun run are hoping for a record field at the upcoming event on Sunday, July 16.

The run, which started as part of the village's support for the 2012 London Olympics, attracts more than 200 people each year, some of whom wear fancy dress.

A spokesman from the organisers, Hethersett and the Meltons' Sports Association, said this year's field was already approaching 300.

This year the day will also include a family event which will run from midday to 2.30pm featuring well-being workshops, a bouncy castle, barbecue, a table top and sale and other family activities.

There will be a prize raffle with proceeds going to the Hethersett Dementia Support Group. It costs £3 for adults to take part and £1.50 for under-16s, children under eight must be accompanied by an adult. Entry forms are available from Hethersett Library and online at www.hethersett.org.uk
