A community group has launched a bid for to make Wymondham's public swimming pool more accessible – but they need your help to succeed.
The Wymondham Access Group is in the running for a grant from an Aviva Community Fund for the 'pool pod' - a device which would be able to lower people in and out of the pool at Wymondham Leisure Centre with ease.
To receive the grant, which could be up to £25,000, the project needs to get as many votes as possible through an internet poll, which can be found by visiting www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk and searching for Wymondham Access Group.
Access group chairman Neil Seach said the pool pod would be a big step up from the leisure centre's hoist, which is currently the only way for people with disabilities to get into the pool.
A fundraising day for the pool pod is will take place at the leisure centre on November 12 from 11am to 3pm.
