Heartsease Lane has now reopened following a crash.
It had been closed between the Plumstead Road roundabout and the junction with Borrowdale Drive, but traffic is now running smoothly.
At 1.30pm a motorbike and a Fiesta Zetec car came together, East of England Ambulance Service attended and police recovered the motorcycle and car.
A male motorcyclist suffering from back pain has been taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, with a possible pelvic fracture and minor neck injury.
