A support group has been put in place for people suffering with vasculitis in Norfolk.

People with vasculitis along with their partners and carers are invited to go to the support group which will hold question and answer sessions along with help and advice.

It has the backing of two experts in the field, Prof David Scott and Dr Mukhtyar, who work at the Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital (NNUH).

Mark Sayer, who made the group after suffering with vasculitis, said: 'When first diagnosed it is hit hard with chemotherapy and high dose steroids and immune suppression drugs.

'There is no support group in our area this is a rare disease, we are hoping to bring people together and help support each other'

Vasculitis is a rare inflammatory disease which affects about 2,300 people in the UK each year.

The first vasculitis support group will be meeting at the NNUH on Monday, October 15.
