Some 30 sets of mugs, milk jugs, and trays were donated to a Norfolk hospital by a Lions club.
Taverham and District Lions received the request from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) after they found the items were lacking in their palliative care unit.
The unit has 30 separate areas, and staff were concerned that relatives and friends visiting the unit were having to use paper cups for any refreshments.
It was felt at such a difficult time, providing better crockery would be appropriate.
The Lions Club jumped into action and collected money locally to fund the sets - which have now been delivered to the hospital and will be used for many years to come.
