Most of us would be happy doing something amazing once, but it has been a regular occurrence for Ronald Gee for more almost 50 years.

Mr Gee, from Overstrand, has received an award for donating blood 100 times.

The retired marine engineer has helped save hundreds of lives since the late 1960s.

He was presented with a plaque and medal by the NHS Blood and Transplant Service and attended a ceremony with other donors at Norwich City Football Club.

Mr Gee, who celebrates his 71st birthday this week, said: 'I started giving blood to help people and save the lives of everyone to children to OAPS.'
