A new clinical research facility (CRF) in the Quadram Institute at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital will open in August, and will be home to a host of research initiatives to aid development of new treatments and improvement patient care.

It will bring together researchers and scientists from across the hospital, University of East Anglia, Norwich Research Park and Quadram Institute Bioscience.

The site will be the hospital’s primary facility for clinical trials that do not need to be in the main hospital, and will accommodate roughly 5,000 participants a year.

It will champion research studies that explore how food and nutrition affect health and disease, among a vast array of other trials.

Dr Melaine Pascale will become the manager of the site.
