The palliative care team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is holding pop-up cafe event to support Dying Matters Week.

Between 10am to 4pm, on May 15 - 17, anyone can drop into the ‘Let’s Have a Cuppa and Talk’ cafe in the hospital’s east atrium.

Clemency Collins, specialist palliative care nurse, said: “This event is especially for families who need advice or just want to sit down and have a chat over a cup of tea.”

Patients and public are being invited to come along and talk to members of the palliative care team or one of the organisations who will be offering advice. These include Red Cross, Macmillan, British Heart Foundation, health and wellbeing, dementia support, motor neurone disease support, lung cancer nurse, organ donation information, and bereavement support. The Norwich Writer’s Cafe has also donated poetry which will be displayed.

Big C will be there to help complete advance care plans and Norfolk Citizens Advice will be able to help on legal matters or concerns.

Free tea, coffee or hot chocolate will be provided and there will also be a 3pm relaxation session each day for everyone to attend in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre.
