An inspiring exhibition will be on display in Norwich this month to showcase the artistic talents of people who have experienced mental ill health in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The annual exhibition, called Fruits of the Mind, has been organised by The Well artist group in partnership with Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

Fruits of the Mind will be hosted at The Forum from 9am to 5pm each day from September 13 to 15, with all items available for purchase. Last year's exhibition saw the contributors make over 500, and for many artists Fruits of the Mind is their first ever showcase.

Maggie Wheeler, chairman of the foundation trust, will officially open the exhibition at 1pm on September 13. 'Fruits of the Mind shows us all that creativity and talent transcend mental illness,' she said. 'Creating art can support people in their recovery and help them express their feelings - indeed it can be a therapeutic activity for all of us.

'What this exhibition is really about is seeing beyond the diagnosis to the extraordinary talent and creativity.'
