The city's biggest hospital says it still does not know about job cuts, despite other hospitals in Norfolk planning for redundancies.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn is to shed 18 clinical and 206 non-clinical posts by 2015. Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Trust plans to axe 85 full-time jobs by 2013, mostly in non-clinical areas. However, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Gorleston's James Paget University Hospital say it is too early on in the NHS reforms to decide on staffing.

Anna Dugdale, chief executive of the N&N, said: 'We can expect our staff will work more in community settings as opposed to hospitals.

'Working more flexibly than before and in very close partnership with GP colleagues will be crucial to delivering care closer to home and changes to the number of staff we employ will be based on the way in which care is provided in the future.'
