Hospital fete will have have the theme of woof, wellies, and wellbeing
An action-packed day out has been planned at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s (NNUH) summer fete and dog show which is taking place on Saturday, June 16.
The annual event is taking place on the hospital’s Colney Lane site from 12pm to 4pm with the theme woof, wellies and wellbeing.
The highlights of the day will include a fun dog show with categories including waggiest tail, best rescue, cutest puppy, awesome old timer, and many more.
There will also be a woodland walk around the hospital grounds, performance by the Staffordshire Bull Terrier display team and a demonstration of Pets as Therapy dogs as well as a chance to test your dog’s skills at the rally obedience class.
Away from the arena, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers and Bumblebee from the Transformers will be visiting.
You will also have the chance to visit the team from Taverham Vets who will have their pet photo booth on site, and to meet some of the region’s working dogs.
We have more than 40 stalls, including dog and animal-themed stalls, tombolas, food and drink, a BBQ, games and entertainment from the Rock Choir, dancers from Busybodies stage school and the hospital choir.
Proceeds from the dog show will go to NNUH Hospitals Charity and fundraising manager Louise Cook said: “We are delighted at how this year’s fete is shaping up – we have received some fantastic support from individuals, organisations and companies who have volunteered to help us out on what is our first dog-themed event.
“Everyone is welcome to come along for what we’re certain will be a great day out, whether you come with a four-legged friend or not.”
Entry is free with free parking on the main hospital site.
