Felicity Wright, eight, from Adams Lane in Corpusty, has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and finds it difficult balancing and walking on her own for long distances because of her condition.

But she can use the new trike, which was paid for through fundraising, by herself after the front wheel was taken off and it was connected to an adult bike.

Her siblings, Ellie, 10, Ben, 13, and Josh, 14, organised a fundraising extravaganza to raise money for the trike,

Mum Sarah Wright, 36, said: 'Before, as a family we could not do anything physical together, because Felicity was always in a wheelchair. She can walk short distances but only on very level ground.

'She can now use the trike to cycle to Corpusty Primary School, rather than be pushed in a wheelchair.'

Mrs Wright said the fundraiser in October was very well attended and the children managed to raise a whopping £1722.87.

She added: 'That included a very generous donation of £500 on the day from a lovely charity based in Sheringham, Love for Leo.

'The children were absolutely thrilled and Felicity's trike was ordered. It was delivered as a very special surprise on Christmas Day. She is absolutely thrilled and thoroughly enjoying using her new trike.

'We had also received generous donations from Corpusty Bonfire, £100, and the Aylsham show, £500, which will go towards a shed to keep the trike dry and secure.

'We are all extremely grateful for the support, particularly from the readers of the EDP, many of whom turned up on the day.

'The children would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped them, who came on the day or who donated - they're all feeling suitably proud.'

The siblings had previously raised thousands of pounds for Felicity by organising tombola and cake sales.

That paid for an outdoor sensory garden for Felicity, and a £1,000 tricycle, which she outgrew. The family also includes dad Steve, 43, a full-time carer for Felicity.
