A second learning disability liaison nurse has been appointed to help patients with learning disabilities or autism at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The two-year contract has been funded by the Norwich and District branch of Mencap.
Tara Webster will work with in-patients and out-patients every day and ensure that legally-required reasonable adjustments and extra support are made available for those with learning disabilities or autism.
She said: 'I am really excited to have joined the NNUH Learning Disability Team and to be given the opportunity to make a difference to the care of people with learning disabilities in hospital.'
Director of nursing Emma McKay said the appointment was 'fantastic' and would help ensure high quality care for patients with learning disabilities and autism.
