A woman who has taken up a new and unique apprenticeship at an NHS research institute has said how proud she is to work for the organisation.

Kayleigh Martin, 20, was accepted as the National Institute of Health Research's (NIHR) apprentice communication assistant at Clinical Research Network (CRN) based in Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals, a role that is the first of its kind at the institute.

Miss Martin, from Caister-on-Sea worked as a sales assistant after completing her A-Levels, however she soon made up her mind to change her career path and take up an apprenticeship where she could work and learn at the same time. She said: 'I felt the role perfectly suits my ambitions. I have always been incredibly proud of our NHS and now I can be equally proud to be a member of the organisation's workforce!'
