A free mental health first aid event will be held this month to raise awareness and increase understanding of a variety of conditions.
Run by Serenity Training, the conference on March 20 will feature guest speakers from a number of organisations as well as sessions on prevention, support and impact.
Kelsea Vinall, manager at Serenity Training, said: 'When I worked as manager of a domiciliary care agency I had a number of staff members who suffered from mental health problems and I really struggled to know how best to support these staff members and so I decided to initially put on a free training session for up to 12 people to help others in knowing how best to support their employees and colleagues who may be suffering. Because this has been so popular, we have made this into a larger fundraising conference style event and we now have capacity for up to 300 delegates.'
During the event, which will be held at The Space, Norwich, from 9.30am to 12.30pm, funds will be raised for Norfolk Mind and prizes from local businesses are being sought.
