A man in his 70s was airlifted to hospital by the East Anglian Air Ambulance yesterday after suffering a cardiac arrest in a field in Thetford.
The charity's clinical team was flown to the scene at Barnham Cross Common and landed in the field in which a fair had been set up for Bonfire Night.
Volunteers from St John Ambulance and a first responder were already on scene and managed to get the man's heart beating again as the EAAA medical crew arrived.
The team then anaesthetised the patient so he could be airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
