A new defibrillator serving Downham Market will be installed outside Hillcrest Primary School.

The new life-saving device has been funded by the school's own parent teacher association known as the Friends of Hillcrest whilst the secure cabinet into which it will be mounted has been provided by Norfolk based charity, Heart 2 Heart.

Jayne Biggs founded Heart 2 Heart after her own terrifying experience, after her own seven-year-old daughter suffered from a cardiac arrest. After her life was saved through the use of a defibrillator, Mrs Biggs dedicated her spare time to supporting the installation of defibrillators at as many schools across Norfolk as possible.

She will be attending Hillcrest on Tuesday, January 23 to train around 60 teachers, teaching assistants and governors.

The device will be mounted outside the main school car park where it can be accessed at any time.
