A former Gorleston nursing home that specialised for people with Huntington’s Disease is up for sale.

Seahorses Nursing Home in Park Road is being marketed for sale by William H Brown and is currently empty.

Eight residents of the care home had to found alternative accommodation by Norfolk County Council.

The home had provided accommodation, nursing care and support for up to eight people living with Huntington’s disease.

Seahorses Nursing Home was last inspected by the Care Quality Commission in April 2017, with a report published two months later.

At the time of the inspection there were seven people living at the service.

The inspection report rated the home overall as “requires improvement” with four categories looked at gaining that rating - safe, effective, responsive and well-led.

For the caring category it was rated “good”.

A spokesman for the county council said this week that eight people had to be found alternative accommodation.
