'Clean and comfortable' environment at care home rated good

A care home has received an overall rating of Good in its latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) report.
Inspectors found that people at the Rookery in Walcott were supported to have "maximum choice and control of their lives".
The report found that staff showed empathy, kindness and compassion, and that residents participated in one to one and group activities, including accessing the on-site working farm.

It said: "We received positive feedback from people and their relatives about the service received. Staff told us they enjoyed working at The Rookery and spoke highly of the support and encouragement provided by the registered manager.
"People had their care and support needs met by sufficient numbers of suitably trained staff. The care environment was clean and comfortable throughout."
The home, which is registered for up to 36 people, is run by Janith Homes Limited. The rating at the last inspection in August 2016 was also Good.
