An online database on all things related to elderly care in Norfolk is celebrating its first anniversary.

National organisation Age Space, which helps anyone caring for an elderly parent, is expanding to help people in Suffolk and Cambridge and Suffolk access a variety of information and advice.

Age Space was set up by Annabel James and Ruth Durrah, who helped look after their elderly parents.

The website covers a wide range of subjects including healthy diets, travel, recognising signs of dementia and legal and financial worries.

Helen Burgess, Age Space Norfolk regional manager, said: 'Whilst people living longer is something to be celebrated, the care system is crumbling under the weight and we are facing a new reality – taking care of our ageing parents. This can be scary, especially as a grown-up child who is faced with that reality.'
