Downham Market Lioness Club have donated special packs of toiletries to the Fermoy Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

They are intended to help patients who find themselves admitted to Churchill Ward without essentials such as toothpaste.

Nicky Gordon, clinical team leader at the unit, said her patients would benefit “immensely” from the gift.

She thanked the Lionesses for thinking of the Fermoy, which is sometimes “the forgotten unit” compared to donations received by other areas of the hospital.

Lionesses are now hoping to provide more packs. Clubs across the country make them up as a project, with some being given to hospitals and others to women’s refuges.
