A receptionist at a Norfolk GP surgery has been named Flu Hero of the Year in a national competition.

Jessica Bane, who works at Ludham and Stalham Green Surgeries, was recognised for managing the surgeries' flu clinics for the last two years.

And she was nominated for Flu Hero of the Year by practice manager Laura Holder, who said: 'Not only have Jess' efforts and innovative ideas increased our flu uptake figures, they have also led to positive feedback from both patients and staff. Jess is enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about ensuring that our patients are made aware of the flu clinic dates, the benefits of getting vaccinated and the eligibility criteria. She has done all of this whilst working full time and studying for her NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management. She is a total star.'

As well as the award, Ms Bane will receive £250 in vouchers.
