Ambulance service staff are being encouraged to get on their bikes, walk or take public transport to work for NHS Sustainability Day.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust has already made its commitment to the event next Wednesday, and staff are being urged to make the difference with a carbon-saving commute.

This could include cycling, walking, lift sharing or taking public transport.

Norfolk residents Stephen Fry is supporting the campaign.

He called the NHS 'one of the greatest institutions in the world', adding that next Wednesday was 'a fabulous opportunity to make a difference and make healthcare more sustainable.'
