Two Burmese migrant workers found guilty of murdering Norfolk backpacker Hannah Witheridge will launch an appeal against their convictions today.
Miss Witheridge was killed alongside fellow traveller David Miller, from Jersey, on the island of Koh Tao in September 2014.
Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo were sentenced to death for the attacks in December.
Today a team of lawyers will submit a 200 page appeal against their conviction and sentencing to Koh Samui court.
The lawyers will be accompanied by May Thein and Phyu Shew Nu, mothers of the two 22 year olds.
They travelled from the Rakhine state in Myanmar to Thailand last week to help submit the appeal and visit their sons on death row in the Bang Kwang Prison in Bangkok, where the accused have been held since January.
Andy Hall, who is part of the defence team said that a verdict could be reached 'at the earliest' in 2017.
The case will be retried in the appeals court on Phuket.
