A woman attempted to steal a handbag from a car in a Great Yarmouth supermarket car park- while its driver was sat inside.

At just after midday on Saturday, a woman was preparing to leave Sainsbury's car park, climbing into her silver Honda Accord and placing her handbag on the passenger seat.

Just as she was about to leave, a second woman, described as being white, in her 20s and around 5ft 4ins tall, opened the door and attempted to steal the bag.

After a short tussle, the suspect ran off in the direction of St Nicholas Road and onto Silkmill Road.

The suspect had dark blonde hair which was short at the front, was thinly built and was wearing a black coat with a fur rimmed hood, black leggings and knee high boots.
