A handbag containing jewellery was stolen today after it was taken from the rear passenger seat of a car, as the owner got in.
It happened at around 12.40pm today, Thursday, when the elderly victim was getting into her silver Renault Megane in Palmer Road.
The suspect opened the rear passenger door, and took the handbag from the rear passenger seat.
The suspect then made off down an alleyway on the High Street.
