A new initiative for jobseekers, employers and people involved in business start ups will be holding an event in Great Yarmouth.

Mandalay Wellbeing Community Interest Company is holding Start Up Saturday at The Acorn Centre at Regent Street between 10am and 1pm on Saturday.

The monthly event in the town can put jobseekers in touch with employers and business start ups in touch with potential suppliers and customers in a relaxed, informal environment.

Jobseekers and long term disabled people can attend free of charge. Business start ups pay £10 for a stand where they are able to talk to both potential customers and other businesses helping them with advice and tips relating to starting and the early stages of running a business.

Trevor Saunders, who founded the not for profit company, said: 'Employers can meet and talk to potential employees seeing the 'real person' not just what is on a CV, they don't event have to disclose they are potential employers.

'Jobseekers and long term disabled people can attend the event free of charge, we are all about helping people in Great Yarmouth to improve their wellbeing.

'Business start ups pay only £10 for a stand where they are able to talk to both potential customers and other businesses helping them with advice and tips relating to starting and early stages of running a business.

'The event gives local entrepreneurs or people looking to earn a second income a low cost way of networking and establishing a business or group.

'We have been delighted that we have had many established commercial businesses interested in supporting the events, which will be held on a monthly basis, with Towergate Insurance being our main supporter for this coming Saturday.

'We welcome anyone at the Maritime Festival to pop in, free of charge, on Saturday.'
