More than twenty former pupils of the Technical High School in Great Yarmouth have gathered to celebrate a shared land mark birthday.

The 23 ex-pupils, who went to the school from 1953 to 1958, met at the Furzedown Hotel on the seafront to celebrate their 75th birthdays.

A special cake in the school colours was made by Lisa Farley of Gordon Road and depicted the two school badges with great accuracy.

Organisers said every assistance was given by hotel staff to ensure that the event was enjoyed by all. A lapel badge showing the new school badge was presented to all who attended and an individual table menu printed by Skippers of Rollesby was also signed by everyone and exchanged. The cake was cut by Christopher Colclough from Canada - being the person who had travelled the furthest to the event. Others had come from Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Peterborough, Suffolk and Norfolk.
