Site owner Phil Thompson has submitted plans to Great Yarmouth Borough Council to build 23 homes, 10 retail units and a large unit for leisure use on the site.

MORE; a year after the blazeThe planning application is to be discussed by Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s development control committee on Wednesday, December 13, with planning officers saying the plans should be approved.

Planning papers state: “It is considered that securing a mix of ground floor retailing in this location will help to reduce the seasonality of Regent Road.

“The continuation of active retail and/or leisure uses along Regent Road frontage will help to maintain its vibrancy and character. In addition, the concentration of further residents in this locale may help to stimulate more ground floor commercial activity improving its vitality.”
