Great Yarmouth men due in court

TWO 44 year old men are due to appear in court tomorrow charged with weapons offences.

The charges follow an incident in Great Yarmouth. Police were alerted by CCTV operators to King Street in the early hours of Wednesday, July 18 after they spotted what appeared to be a man with a machete.

The two 44 year olds were subsequently arrested and charged.

Paul Whittle, of Crown Road, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a machete, while Simon French, of Albany Road, was charged with possession of a knife blade/ sharp pointed article in a public place, relating to the possession of a craft knife.

Both are due to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Wednesday).
