Two former pupils at a Norfolk academy who secured scholarships to an independent sixth form have inspired pupils at their old school to aim high.

Phoebe Harvey and Keeley Roe won 100pc-paid scholarships to Gresham's sixth form in Holt after achieving top GCSE results this summer, with five of the new top grade 9s between them.

They returned to their former school, Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, to deliver an assembly to current pupils, sharing their journey and encouraging them to have high academic aspirations.

The pair also shared their sixth form interview tips, such as using good eye contact and a firm handshake to show confidence.

Great Yarmouth Charter Academy vice principal Darren Hollingsworth said: 'These girls have demonstrated to our pupils that there is no limit to what they can achieve with hard work and commitment.'
