A grandmother charged with the murder of a 74-year-old Norwich woman appeared in court today for a preliminary hearing.

Jospehine Dougan, 58, appeared at Norwich Crown Court before High Court Judge Mr Justice Calvert-Smith.

She is charged with the murder of Elsie Rees of Canterbury Place, off Dereham Road, between June 13 and 16 last year.

No charges were put to her and she was given conditional bail until August 22 when she must reappear at court.

As part of her bail conditions, Dougan, formerly or Orchard Street, Norwich, and now of The Cove, Farnborough, Hampshire, must not enter Norfolk unless for court hearings.
