A woman who first ventured into the world of pageantry earlier this year has reached her second national final.

Emma-Jayne Relf of Gorleston was named Ms Norfolk Curve in January and while she failed to place in the finals, the experience was a big confidence boost for her.

Now, she once again finds herself a finalist, as she looks to be named the inaugural Miss Voluptuous UK.

The competition, which is held in Cambridge in September, was open solely to models above a size 14, and the 41-year-old is one of 23 woman to have made the finals.

She said: 'The first pageant was absolutely fantastic, although rather daunting. We were in a theatre and I couldn't really see the audience, although I could definitely hear my mum.

'I'm so excited about the next one, but it's going to be very different so it is still very new to me.'

She is also continuing to try and raise awareness of lupus, an autoimmune disease she was diagnosed with in 2003.

'Each competitor in Miss Voluptuous is required to have a platform to base their entry on, so lupus is going to be what I am raising awareness of,' she added. 'I'm very excited, but so very nervous about the competition, especially as the winner of the US competition is going to be there to watch.'

The final will be held at the Belfry Hotel in Cambridge, on Saturday, September 2.
