A literary festival will come to a haunting conclusion when a performer retells two spine-chilling ghost stories.
Robert Lloyd Parry will bring the fifth Wymondham Words festival to a close on Sunday with his one-man performance of M R James' A Warning to the Curious and Lost Hearts.
Mr Parry, who appeared in BBC2's 2013 documentary Ghost Writer, terrifies audiences up and down the country with his performances of the author's works.
Edward Parnell, artistic director of Wymondham Words, said: 'We're delighted that Robert Lloyd Parry is returning to Wymondham Words to present two of M R James's finest ghost stories. James had a lot of connections with East Anglia, as he was the son of the Rector of Livermere in Suffolk, and later studied and taught at Cambridge University.'
The eerie performance is just one of a varied line-up at the week-long festival, which has seen poets, authors and songwriters grace stages at venues around the market town.
Pascale Petit and Meike Ziervogel performed readings of their work earlier in the week, while a literary themed quiz at the Green Dragon pub tonight at 8pm will challenge book lovers.
On Wednesday, Norwich-based Words and Women, which promotes women writers living in the East of England, invited some of the region's best writers to the town's library.
Poet Andrea Holland, novelist Lynne Bryan and Charles Pick Fellow Megan Bradbury read alongside Bethany Settle, writer in residence at The Undercroft in Norwich,
Belona Greenwood, co-organiser, said that the evening was a great example of the 'profound, moving, funny and very original texts' that 'reflect the enormous talent to be found in our region'.
A Warning to the Curious will be performed on Saturday, September 27 at 7.30pm at Wymondham High Academy studio theatre.
Tickets cost £8 and are available on the door.
