The Gap store in Norwich is to close its doors for the final time this week.

The shop on London Street, which sells clothing for men, women and children, will be closed by midday on Saturday. The closure could be earlier dependent on stock levels.

Upon closure, the building is to set be converted into an Ivy Collection restaurant.

Owned by Troia Restaurants Limited, The Ivy Collection is a range of grills, brasseries and cafes which are said to bring the “inimitable service and vibrant surroundings” of The Ivy restaurant in London to locations across the UK.

The restaurants offer full service from breakfast through to dinner, with their menus featuring a selection of modern British cuisine.

The company has put in various planning applications for the premises to Norwich City Council but these are all awaiting a decision.

Plans include an external seating area, a brass letter sign and installation of plants on the outside of the building.
