While the sub-zero temperatures have caused problems for many, the cold snap has brought some benefits to the region.

Despite treacherous conditions on the roads and icy footpaths, the winter weather sheds a new light on some of our most picturesque towns, villages and countryside.

Here, EDP photographer Matthew Usher has encapsulated some stunning scenes from Wells.

The north Norfolk coastal town attracts visitors from across the country for its quaint, old world charm, which is captured perfectly in these images of Wells harbour.
