Fund-raisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which continues to raise money and awareness in aid of cancer charities, have been boosted once more.
On Friday, April 14 a veterans football match was held near Diss. Phil Ramsey organised a Norfolk and Suffolk Veterans League representative side to play Scole Veterans.
Gary Bennett, of the Lauren Lou appeal, said: 'Although Scole ran out 5-1 winners, the real winner was Cancer Research UK. With each player donating money and a raffle the event raised £350 for Cancer Research UK through our Team Lauren Lou cancer fundraising group – I can't thank everyone concerned enough.'
Last Friday, April 21, a collection and table top sale was held at Boots in Lowestoft town centre. The Boots Stand Up To Cancer event raised £304.45 for Cancer Research UK.
Mr Bennett said: 'Thanks to all who kindly donated or volunteered.'
