A village primary school has been given a top rating by inspectors, becoming the latest in its federation to receive the good news.

Great Witchingham Primary School was rated outstanding in a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report.

It comes after the other two schools in The Trinity Federation - St Peter's Primary Academy in Easton and Hockering Primary Academy - were also handed the top rating.

Inspectors praised the system of senior leadership at the school, pupils' behaviour and understanding of the school's values and its clear Christian vision.

Executive headteacher Rebecca Newman said she was 'delighted' at the report.

'We have worked hard to improve since our last inspection report, and this has been reflected in the promotion from good to outstanding.'

The school was rated outstanding in all four categories.

The federation joined the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust last March.
