Lowestoft-based magician Joshua Pickering will be performing during a free Halloween themed event at a care home later this month.

Families are being invited to join residents and staff at Lilac Lodge and Lavender Cottage care home, in Gorleston Road, Oulton Broad, for an early Halloween celebration on Sunday, October 28.

A variety of fun activities, including apple bobbing, a spooky lucky dip and a pumpkin hunt will take place from 2pm to 4pm on October 28, and a balloon modeller will be on hand to entertain youngsters.

There will be free refreshments available and a prize will be awarded for the best dressed little monster. Lilac's activities co-ordinator Claire Garrod said: 'It's important for our residents to feel part of their community so it's great to invite people in for fun events like this.'

This week, residents have been busy carving pumpkins in preparation for the event.

Manager Zena Stotter said: 'People will be able to look around the home and I'll be happy to answer any questions about care and the services we offer.'

Donations will be taken for the residents' fund which pays for extra activities and outings.
