A former headteacher will talk about her career and her life at Holt library as part of an ongoing series of events called ‘My Norfolk, My Holt’.

Beryl Knowles was head at Holt Primary School from September 1995 until March 31, 2012.

Born on September 7, 1952 in Burscough, Lancashire, she came to Holt because her then boyfriend David’s parents lived in the north Norfolk town. She met him at college in Chester, and they married in 1975.

Since retiring she has taken up running and completed several half-marathons.

She will be interviewed at the library on April 20. Future interviewees include - May 18, Father Howard, the Rector of St Andrews, Holt, June 8, Peter Braes, local street cleaner, and July 27, Rhu Bruce Lockhart, the patron of Holt Festival.

Booking for these free sessions, which take place monthly on a Thursday between 11am and noon, is essential. Call 01263 712202.
