Former Canary striker and cancer survivor John Hartson hits out at sick tweet which said the ex Arsenal, Celtic and Norwich City star should “drop dead”

Former Norwich City striker and cancer survivor John Hartson has hit out after someone tweeted that he should 'drop dead'.

Hartson, 36, who played four times for the Canaries' during a loan spell in 2007/08, was attacked by someone on Twitter who told the former Arsenal and Celtic star to drop dead and said he should play football on a minefield.

The footballer who battled testicular cancer in 2009 and now campaigns for more awareness of the disease, said: 'I can take banter, but when somebody says that they wish you were dead or worse, it takes it to a whole new level.
