Two five-year-olds from near Norwich had their patience rewarded - and their woolly winter hats appreciated by the Duchess of Cornwall.

Poppy Griffin and her friend Ellen DeAbreu from Taverham presented the duchess with some potted daisies as she left a morning church service on the Sandringham estate with the Prince of Wales.

The duchess thanked them and said she liked their bobble hats and said she enjoyed her recent trip to Uganda.

She was dressed for the cold but bright weather wearing a teal knee-length coat with knee-high tan coloured suede boots and a herringbone pattern hat with trim.

Other guests of the prince were the former King and Queen of Greece, King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie, Princess Alexandra and Sir Nicholas Bacon.

They spent just under and hour in the church, leaving at about 12am.
