A flood warning has been issued for a river that runs through the Thetford area.

The Environment Agency is monitoring the River Thet, which runs through Thetford and Brandon, due rising levels caused by rainfall on Thursday morning.

A flood alert on the agency's website, issued at 10.40am this morning, said that drier weather is forecast today, but that further showers were expected over the weekend.

The area at highest risk is at Redbridge near North End and Shropham, according to the alert.

Its level was 1.58 metres as of midday. The average level of the river at Redbridge is between 0.06m and 0.64m.
