A holiday park which has hosted 57,000 visitors this year and boasts fun for all the family now has a coveted five star rating.

With plenty going on indoors and out Hopton Holiday Vilalge was handed the top ranking by Quality in Tourism, the official reviewers for VisitEngland.

Jonathan Stratford, general manager at the clifftop site said: 'We are delighted to be awarded five stars by VisitEngland as this recognises the passion and commitment that the team at Hopton have demonstrated over the last three years.'

The Quality in Tourism team visited the holiday park on October 24 and were reportedly 'very impressed' with the developments that had taken place since their last visit.

They said in their report: 'It is very pleasing to confirm that Hopton Holiday Village has achieved a five star grading following the recent assessment under the Holiday Park criteria.

'The park has seen some considerable work and investment over the past few years and further work having taken place since the previous assessment. It is with this that has enabled the new grading to be confirmed.'

The announcement comes as the holiday park has been included as part of the newly opened Norfolk Coastal Path which runs 21 miles between Hopton-On-Sea and Sea Palling.
