Firefighters free man trapped under heavy farm machinery near Downham Market

A man in his 70s was freed by firefighters after becoming trapped under heavy farm machinery this morning.

It happened at a farm in Church Road, Wereham, near Downham Market, at about 11am.

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for the East of England ambulance service said: 'A man, believed to be in his 70s, was trapped underneath some machinery. Once free, he was treated for abdomen pains before being taken to hospital.'

Fire crews from Downham Market and Thetford released the man.
