Norwich vehicle fire found to be false alarm

Firefighters were called to reports of a car fire in Norwich.

An appliance from Sprowston attended to a report of smoke coming from a vehicle on Colegate at just after 4.20pm on Friday (June 7).

However it was found to be a false alarm.

Firefighters were called to a false alarm due to controlled burning at Swanton Morley at just after 7.30pm tonight (June 7).

Elsewhere, one appliance from Sprowston and one from Carrow attended reports of a road traffic collision on Water Lane in Great Plumstead.

Crews were called at just after 2.25pm today (June 7) and made vehicles and the surrounding area safe.

Meanwhile at 12.10pm this afternoon (June 7) one appliance from Carrow attended an alarm activation on Chantry Road.

The crew arrived to discover it was a false alarm due to an unknown system fault.
