Firefighters have been called to a blaze at Feltwell.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service was called at just before 5.15pm today.
Pictures showing smoke billowing into the sky have been posted on Twitter with people saying crops are on fire.
Witnesses have reported that several fire engines are at the scene of the fire, on the road between Feltwell and Methwold Hythe.
Fire crews spent just over an hour tackling what threatened to be a 'major blaze' at Feltwell.
20 pumps were initially called but thanks to support from the nearby US air base and Suffolk Fire Service, only eight were required in the end.
Jim Scarratt, who manages the farm, off Old Methwold Road, said: 'We've lost our spring barley and it's spread into the field next door.
'We don't know what started it, we think it might have been a flint which caused a spark.
'I rang the fire brigade and they were here quickly. There were about 20 called and about eight ended up coming, with some from the airbases involved.'
